Return to Host the Artis Awards

TVA is proud to announce the return of Maripier Morin and Jean-Philippe Dion as hosts of the Artis Awards for a second consecutive year. Produced by TVA Productions, this 34th edition of the awards gala will be presented live from Théâtre Denise-Pelletier in Montreal on Sunday, May 12 at 8 p.m.

In 2018, the Artis Awards special was one of the year’s most-watched programs on all networks combined, drawing 1,765,200 viewers*. Our hosting duo brought new life to the proceedings, drawing unanimous praise from critics for their ability to deliver unique TV moments and a multitude of colourful performances.

“By putting all their heart and passion into the project, Maripier and Jean-Philippe managed to take this great TV celebration to new heights. There was no doubt that we were going to recreate the experience with them this year. Their personalities fit perfectly with the show’s DNA,” declares Ginette Viens, Vice President, Brands & Content, Quebecor Content.

“Maripier and Jean-Philippe are both warm and passionate people, and they really master the art of connecting with audiences. Their rapport and synergy perfectly encapsulate the spirit of the Artis Awards: authentic, colourful and unifying. It’s a real pleasure for TVA to put them at the helm of this prestigious event for a second year,” adds Suzane Landry, Senior Director, Stations & Programming, TVA Group.

Once again this year, Jean-Philippe Dion will be the show’s content producer, accompanied by an experienced team including director Daniel Vigneault, staging director Jean-Guy Legault, executive producer Mélanie Riendeau, and script editor Nicolas Boucher.

For over three decades, the Artis Awards have paid tribute to productions and artists who are an integral part of our daily lives, contributing to the excellence and diversity of our local TV industry. They also offer audiences a unique opportunity to demonstrate their affection for the TV personalities who brighten up their lives. For one night, we are all one big family: the Artis family!
