In honour of Autism Month, MOI ET CIE is proud to announce this fall’s premiere of the emotional new documentary-reality series Autiste, bientôt majeur, produced by Pixcom in collaboration with Quebecor Content.

Unfolding in 10 powerful half-hour episodes, this poignant series takes an unflinching look at the world of teenagers living with autism and the families who support them as they near adulthood.

“We’re especially proud to have the opportunity to work with Pixcom on this moving new docu-reality series, which sheds light of the journeys of atypical families, with devoted parents who have to overcome new challenges every day,” explains Ginette Viens, Vice President, Brands & Content, Quebecor Content. “Autiste, bientôt majeur is a useful and essential show to help us better understand the reality and complex issues faced by parents of autistic kids who are making the transition to adulthood.”

Demystifying Late-Teen Autism

We’ll follow 5 teenagers who are somewhere on the autism spectrum, from light to severe: 17-year-old Mathis and Benjamin, 16-year-old Maëlle, 15-year-old Laurent and 20-year-old Raphaël. As they reach adulthood – always a period of great change – we tag along to share their projects, their accomplishments and their dreams, as well as their challenges, disappointments and worries. We’ll also witness moments where their parents see no light at the end of the tunnel.

“At Pixcom, we love to tell stories that celebrate diversity, family, love and life – and this new series does exactly that,” declare Nicola Merola and Charles Lafortune, respectively President and Vice President, Content & Creation, at Pixcom.

“The mission of MOI ET CIE is to tackle social issues that often lead to misconceptions,” adds Suzane Landry, Senior Director, Stations & Programming, TVA Group. “Our growing subscriber base demonstrates that viewers are seeking a better understanding of these different realities, and the series Autiste, bientôt majeur takes a very sensitive and unconventional look at autism.”

Autiste, bientôt majeur is a docu-reality series that reveals their dreams and ambitions – and their limitations – as they evolve with the priceless assistance of their parents.

MOI ET CIE is a TVA Group specialty channel that invites viewers – both male and female – to share true stories by accompanying fascinating and engaging people in their unique worlds. The station immerses audiences in remarkable, intriguing and always unforgettable documentary/reality shows, series and movies.
