Even More Cases to Solve for the Alerte Amber Team in a New Annual Series from TVA

This season saw the tragic finale of the popular TV series Alerte Amber, which drew over 1,500,000 viewers* each week and proved to be an undeniable hit with an engaged and enthusiastic audience. TVA is now pleased to announce to those fans that, not only will they get to see what happens next, but starting next fall, they’ll also get to follow new cases involving the SQ squad led by Captain Stéphanie Duquette (Sophie Prégent). Titled “Alertes”, this brand-new annual series from TVA will be produced by Pixcom, in collaboration with Quebecor Content.

With Alertes, writer Julie Hivon once again delves into the world of police investigations and reunites viewers with their favourite characters, including Captain Stéphanie Duquette, SQ Director General Marc-André Bonenfant (Guy Jodoin), investigators Renaud Magloire (Frédéric Pierre) and Lily-Rose Bernard (Mylène St-Sauveur) and social worker Dominic Lacroix (Charles-Alexandre Dubé). New characters will also be joining the team, with casting to be announced at a later date.

The Story

Still reeling from the death of Marilou Magloire, the squad decides to take action. Although the case is officially assigned to homicide Sergeant-Detective Pelletier, our four heroes refuse to let go, working day and night to find the person who murdered Renaud’s sister. This only serves to reignite an old rivalry between Reanud and Sergeant Pelletier.

While Captain Duquette deals with the return of her son Pascal, Dominic enters into a romantic relationship with a new SVU criminologist, as Lily-Rose continues to try online dating. In a shocking twist, the squad will be forced to join forces with the highly controversial Sergeant Pelletier in a case with multiple unexpected ramifications.

“The gripping finale of Alerte Amber naturally led to a new chapter,” explains series writer Julie Hivon. “With Alertes, I’m focusing more on the squad members, probing a bit deeper into their personal lives. What I like about them is their solidarity and their very human approach. This is what will come out in Alertes, as we feature different police investigations while always showing how the crimes affect victims and their families. For me, the driving and emotional force behind any story is always the characters. It’s all about what we can say and experience through them.”

Alertes: An annual series filled with raw emotion, exciting police intrigue and unexpected investigative twists – coming to TVA in fall 2020.
