TVA is pleased to announce the addition of an all-new original format in its Winter 2020 programming line-up, developed jointly by Quebecor Content and Entourage Television. Hosted by Pascal Morrissette, this blockbuster variety show will launch a province-wide search for Quebec’s favourite pet.
Each week, we’ll get to meet extraordinary animals in a wide array of species, accompanied by their owners. Through their stories, their charisma, their intelligence and their skills, they’ll have the opportunity to charm our studio audience and viewers at home. At the end of the season, one of these all-star critters will be named QUEBEC’S FAVOURITE PET.
“Animals have a tremendous power to elicit all sorts of emotions in us,” explains Pierre Taschereau, Director of Development ― Variety, Brands & Content, Quebecor Content. “The challenge for our team was to convey this through a unique and exportable entertainment format. With everything that’s going on in the world right now, we could all benefit from a weekly hour of zootherapy.”
“We’re extremely proud to see this new original concept come to life, after several months of development work in cooperation with the Quebecor Content team, and with major support from the Quebecor Fund,” add Eric Young, President and Executive Producer, and Vivianne Morin, General Manager and Executive Producer, Entourage Television. “This variety format is also meant for international markets, considering that it’s totally in sync with the times.”
Genuine, warm, friendly and naturally witty, Pascal Morrissette has quickly conquered an entire generation of viewers, as evidenced by his two Artis Award nominations. This multitalented personality was introduced to TVA audiences as a collaborator on Juste pour rire en direct, Salut Bonjour Week-end and Sucré salé, and as a backstage reporter for the Artis Awards.
If you think your pet has what it takes to win the hearts of the entire province, stay tuned: complete details about our recruitment campaign will be announced very soon.
