A Docu-Reality Show that Will Touch Quebecers’ Hearts
Love has to be learned. It rarely just materializes out of the blue. So what if we all took the time to get to know each other and learn to live together? This is the opportunity that TVA is offering this fall on its new daily documentary-reality series Si on s’aimait, created by Anne Boyer from Duo Productions, in collaboration with Quebecor Content, featuring Émily Bégin and Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge.
Si on s’aimait follows men and women aged 30 to 50 through an 11-week experiment designed to change their approach to relationships, to avoid making the same mistakes again. In a nutshell, they simply want to learn how to love better.
The Sigouin Approach
To guide them along, they’ll rely on the wise advice of relationship expert Louise Sigouin, who’s been studying couple dynamics for over 25 years. This has led her to develop a unique approach to better deal with the 5 dynamics behind every love story.
Though we may not always realize it, it’s true that opposites attract. The challenge is to find a balance between the two extremes, learning from your partner and seeking better mutual understanding in order to reduce conflicts and foster harmony.
Observing from the Sidelines: Émily Bégin and Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge
Real-life spouses Émily Bégin and Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge will follow our participants’ journeys from the sidelines, without ever interacting with them. Funny, honest and generous, our hosts will be free to share their thoughts and questions throughout the season, echoing our viewers’ feelings. In fact, just like Émily and Guillaume, fans will have a chance to benefit from this new relationship approach by following Louise Sigouin’s advice in their own lives.
“Si on s’aimait is useful TV that will change the way relationships are perceived,” explains Ginette Viens, Vice President, Brands & Content, Quebecor Content. “This human-scale docu-reality show teaches us to experience love that is uncomplicated, healthy and enduring, serving as a mirror through which most people can identify. It’s about moving beyond love at first sight, and making it last.”
“It’s a real pleasure for TVA to reunite with Anne Boyer and DUO Productions, who have brought us numerous successful scripted series in the past several years,” adds Suzane Landry, Senior Director, Stations & Programming, TVA Group. “This time, Anne steps into the role of producer for a documentary-reality show focusing on romantic journeys. Si on s’aimait is a daily series that is sure to touch Quebecers’ hearts.”
