US Open champion Bianca Andreescu and other stars of the international women’s tennis circuit will keep shining on TVA Sports, as the network announces the extension of its WTA contract until the end of 2022.
TVA Sports will remain a leading broadcaster of women’s tennis, as it has been since 2013. In fact, every year since that starting point, the sports channel has aired over 25 tournaments, including the Premier Mandatory, Premier 5 and Premier 12 events, as well as the annual finals.
“The WTA is thrilled to be extending its broadcast partnership with TVA Sports for three more years, as the station continues to provide outstanding coverage of the top female tennis players competing in the most exciting venues around the world,” declared WTA President Micky Lawler.
“TVA Sports is delighted to keep featuring the world’s top female tennis players,” declares Serge Fortin, Vice President, TVA Sports. “This announcement comes as we reach a Canadian tennis milestone, with the emergence of talented newcomers on the world stage – including Bianca Andreescu, who gave us more than her share of thrilling moments last year.”
TVA Sports viewers will also have the opportunity to catch various WTA tournaments throughout the season, where they can follow their favourite female players, including up-and-coming talents such as Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka, Belinda Bencic and Coco Gauff, as well as veterans Karolina Pliskova, Elina Svitolina, Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova, Kiki Bertens and Serena Williams.
The TVA Sports tennis offering also features the men’s and women’s Rogers Cup tournament, from Montreal and Toronto.
