The rebirth of outdoor advertising in São Paulo
Apr 12, 2019

Ten years ago, with the goal of making it a clean city, São Paulo banned billboards. While we have been seeing the return of commercial signage for a year now, the medium's contribution to urban and economic activity is now more integrated than ever before.

In fact, the city's mayor has asked future management of the billboard network to invest a portion of their revenues in the development and maintenance of the city's infrastructure. The administration has also requested that half of the space around each digital panel be dedicated to public service announcements such as traffic conditions.

Since necessity is the mother of invention, we can see how some advertisers have dimmed, in terms of visibility, thanks to this ten-year absence.
